In one of her videos, Jen Campbell mentioned Coralie Bickford- Smith’s newest book, and it looked stunning. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find it at the library, but I was able to order The Song of the Tree through the interlibrary loans. What a stunning book!
In this book, we follow a young bird who lives in the biggest tree of the jungle. Instead of leaving with the other birds at the end of the day, he stays in the tree and discovers all the different creatures that share this wonderful habitat. Poetic and lyrical, this story is wonderfully written and takes the readers by surprise with its hopeful and amazed toned. It is a wonderfully positive and beautiful story.
If you’re into graphic design, surface design or repetitive patterns at all, this book is for you! It is full to the brim with wonderfully stylized illustrations. All done in solid colours, this work made me think of paper cut images. The colours are fresh and engaging, whereas the compositions are rich and full of details. I had a lot of fun going through each page and looking at all the hidden creatures that lurk in between leaves. Full of different animals, this book is sure to ignite curiosity. It is such a great experience!
This is such a wonderful book! All tree lovers will fall in love all over again. It is full of beautiful illustrations, interesting characters, and strong writing. Now, I cannot wait to see if I can find other books from this author-illustrator! Happy reading!

Dans l'une de ses vidéos, Jen Campbell a mentionné le nouveau livre de Coralie Bickford-Smith, qui a l'air magnifique. Malheureusement, je ne l'ai pas trouvé à la bibliothèque, mais j'ai pu commander La chanson de l'arbre grâce aux prêts interbibliothèques. Quel livre époustouflant !
Dans ce livre, nous suivons un jeune oiseau qui vit dans le plus grand arbre de la jungle. Au lieu de partir avec les autres oiseaux à la fin de la journée, il reste dans l'arbre et découvre toutes les différentes créatures qui partagent ce merveilleux habitat. Poétique et lyrique, cette histoire est merveilleusement écrite et surprend le lecteur par son ton plein d'espoir et d'émerveillement. C'est une histoire merveilleusement positive et belle.
Si vous aimez le graphisme, le design de surface ou les motifs répétitifs, ce livre est fait pour vous ! Il est rempli à ras bord d'illustrations merveilleusement stylisées. Toutes réalisées en couleurs unies, ces œuvres m'ont fait penser à des images en papier découpé. Les couleurs sont fraîches et attrayantes, tandis que les compositions sont riches et pleines de détails. J'ai eu beaucoup de plaisir à parcourir chaque page et à observer toutes les créatures cachées entre les feuilles. Plein d'animaux différents, ce livre ne manquera pas d'éveiller la curiosité. C'est une expérience merveilleuse !
C'est un livre vraiment formidable ! Tous les amoureux des arbres vont tomber amoureux une fois de plus. Il est rempli de belles illustrations, de personnages intéressants et d'une écriture solide. J'ai hâte de trouver d'autres livres de cette auteur-illustratrice ! Bonne lecture !
